Driving to Campbell River:

The Inland Highway (19) on Vancouver Island shortens travel time or you can take the shoreline Highway (19A), a little longer drive and enjoy the scenery.

When traveling to Campbell River by vehicle, you will cross the Strait of Georgia by ferry, from either Vancouver or Washington State.

The city of Vancouver, is on the mainland coast of British Columbia. From Vancouver, via BC Ferries, you will travel to one of three places on Vancouver Island. BC Ferries offers a convenient service of multiple sailings per day, 7 days a week. The three sailing routes from Vancouver are:

Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver to Departure Bay, Nanaimo The Horseshoe Bay terminal is located on the north side of Vancouver, and is best if you want to see Vancouver. Check out this map (north on map) for directions to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Follow the Departure Bay-Nanaimo lane. From Departure Bay it is an approximate 1 hour and 30 minutes drive to Campbell River on the Inland Island Hwy (19) north.

Tsawwassen, Vancouver to Duke Point, Nanaimo The Tsawwassen terminal is located on the south end of Vancouver. This is the best route if you are traveling from the Vancouver International Airport, the US border or wish to bypass Vancouver. Check out this map (south on map) for directions to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and get in the Duke Point-Nanaimo lane. From Duke Point it is an approximate 1 hour and 45 minute drive to Campbell River on the Inland Island Hwy (19) north.

Tsawwassen, Vancouver to Swartz Bay, Victoria

This route is for travelers who would like to visit Victoria, the capital city of BC, before making their way north to Campbell River. When arriving at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, get into the Swartz Bay-Victoria lane. From Victoria, drive approximately 3 1/2 hours to Campbell River on the In-land Island Hwy (19) north.

There are many different options when flying to Campbell River by air, from seaplanes to small and large jets. Please check out these airlines for information on your preferred travel.

Private plane and jet owners can fly directly in to Campbell River Airport (YBL). It is conveniently located with a 15-20 minute drive from downtown.
